ABOUT

The Bolt Factory Lofts

The Bolt Factory Lofts derive their name from the esteemed legacy of A & I Nut and Bolt, a prominent specialty hardware manufacturer that previously occupied the premises prior to its redevelopment. A & I Nut and Bolt established its office and manufacturing facility at the 209 Kalamath location, solidifying its stature as a cornerstone of the hardware industry in Denver over the course of numerous years. Personal recollections include visits to the will-call window for specialized hardware, an experience predating the advent of prominent "big box" retailers in the Denver area.

Commencing in 2006, the redevelopment initiative transformed the property into the modernized space known as the Bolt Factory Lofts, a project ultimately completed in 2010. The initial phase of redevelopment focused on the construction of the main or first floor, which was originally built in 1951. Subsequently, the second story was added, culminating in the comprehensive renovation of the building.

The Bolt Factory Lofts feature a plethora of distinctive amenities for tenants and owners alike. These include a secure and heated community parking garage, accessible via the main entrance on the south side of the building along 2nd Avenue. The oversized door allows for larger trucks and freight deliveries.

The main entrance is conveniently located at the center of the building along Kalamath street and features a timed door lock mechanism, which remains unlocked during business hours. After hours, an intercom system facilitates visitor access. Within the central lobby, occupants will find convenient amenities such as mailboxes, elevator access, and the stairwell.

Units facing west offer private patio areas outside their front doors, while those facing east enjoy a walkway and optimal exposure to both Kalamath Street vehicle traffic and light rail commuters.

The second floor presents a communal area for residents to enjoy outdoor moments or reserve for gatherings and meetings. Additionally, many second-floor units boast private decks affording breathtaking views of the mountains or city skyline.

Presently, the building accommodates 29 units that serve a diverse array of purposes, encompassing private residences, commercial enterprises, and live-work spaces. The varied businesses include architects, attorneys, artists, design, marketing, photographers, showrooms and more.
